Door to Door Organics was started by my super hero (but I've always called him Dad), a family friend, and me in 1997 in
beautiful Upper Bucks County, Pennsylvania. It became a family business in 1999 and I made it a sole venture
(speaking with Dad several times a week) in 2001.
In the fall of 2004 I moved out to Colorado in pursuit of a lifestyle change, and to duplicate the business.
After settling down in Boulder operations began in a 300 square foot garage in South Boulder. The first box was
delivered in November to Bailey.
Soon thereafter, my main ingredient, Mat, moved to town and was introduced to Door to Door Organics. After working
together for a short time, he was offered a partnership with the company and happily accepted. Together we would go to
networking meetings and drive to the historic produce market in downtown Denver. We would pick up our goods in my old Subaru and
later in our new van, pack produce through the night, say our goodbyes only to meet again early the next morning to split the
boxes up for our deliveries. Them were the good ol' days.
Since that time we have added some very nice spices. You may have spoken to them on the phone at one point or another, or
seen them at your door. Door to Door Organics' fresh start in Colorado has been aided by the help of Jeremy, my wife Theresa,
and Laura.
We hope to see you soon!
David
